The Awards

In order to recognise outstanding performance in Health and Safety by members, awards are presented to companies and individuals at the Annual General Meeting each year.

The awards are judged by the health and safety advisers using a pre-determined score sheet. Scoring for the awards goes on throughout the year so as to provide a sound basis on which to decide the winning company / individual for each category. A winner and a runner-up are named for each of the company awards and 4 individual awards are also presented.

The awards criteria have been designed to enable all member companies to compete equally with their counterparts:

The Brunel Award

The Brunel Award will be awarded to the most safety conscious high risk company within the group, the company that the Advisors consider to be carrying out work that will entail the greatest risk to the greatest amount of workers from differing trades.

There are also two runners up awards.

The Telford Award

The Telford Award will be awarded to the most safety conscious company that does not fall into the Brunel award category but still operates within their own specialised area of work.

There are also two runners up awards.

The Stephenson Award

The Stephenson award will be awarded to the most safety conscious company working in the speculative housing market or sub division of a member company in speculative house building.

There are also two runners up awards.
