Membership of Construction Safety Services (NW) Ltd entitles you to the following
core services:
Membership of a long standing established
health and safety advisory organisation that has been in existence for
over thirty years.
Advice on the promotion of health and
safety generally from our qualified health and safety advisers. The advisers
give advice on all aspects of health and safety in the construction industry.
As well as being members of RoSPA and the NorthWest Construction Safety
Group, the company is also part of the Construction Design and Management
(CDM) Duty Holders Support Group and offers advice on all aspects of CDM.
The health and safety advisers have well over a hundred years experience in
the construction industry and their combined experience has enabled us to
build a multi-faceted and effective team.
Head Office visits, carried out by the senior health and
safety adviser on a regular basis. We seek to maintain close links with
senior managers of member companies to ensure that health and safety advice
gets to the right place within the management structure.
Management System Audits, as part of our head office
visit, we undertake on request an audit of the members health and safety
management system.
Health and Safety Policy advice,
given on the contents of the member companies’ health and safety
policies. We have proforma policies on either CD ROM, disk or hard copy
for example purposes.
Training advice, given on health
and safety training requirements.
Site Visits, carried out by the
health and safety advisers on a regular basis for each site registered
with us by members, to verify compliance with health, safety and welfare
legislation. Written inspection reports are left on site and a copy of
each report is also sent to the member’s Head Office. Visits to sites
of up to 4 weeks duration are included within core fees; for longer projects,
a sliding scale of (modest) charges apply.
Site Set-Up Packs are issued as necessary for each
registered site. These include:
- Site set-up Sheet - what documentation you should legally display.
- Accident Book.
- Health and Safety Law poster.
- Health and Safety Record book of Reports & Inspections (report
book with preprinted sections on scaffolding / excavations / plant & work
equipment / abrasive wheels / electrical tests / plant & equipment
operators / 1st aiders).
- Health & Safety Information Sheet.
- Fire & Emergency Information Sheet.
Quarterly Performance Reports, issued
to each member, analysing and summarising their Site Visit inspection results
for the previous 12 months. These allow members to monitor health and safety
performance for individual sites and for their company as a whole, as well
as to benchmark their performance either internally or against the average
for the whole membership.
Workstation / VDU assessments, at members offices.
Generic Risk Assessments, available
in hard copy, floppy disk or CD.
Health and Safety Library of information, videos
and DVDs.
Toolbox Talks, given either by one of our health and safety
advisers or if requested, by the member, using materials supplied by us.
School visits, with visual aids carried out by health
and safety advisers to warn children near member sites of construction
site dangers.
Accident Investigation assistance and liaison with
HSE, in the event of a major accident or dangerous occurrence.
