Services

Membership of Construction Safety Services (NW) Ltd entitles you to the following core services:

Membership of a long standing established health and safety advisory organisation that has been in existence for over thirty years.

Advice on the promotion of health and safety generally from our qualified health and safety advisers. The advisers give advice on all aspects of health and safety in the construction industry. As well as being members of RoSPA and the NorthWest Construction Safety Group, the company is also part of the Construction Design and Management (CDM) Duty Holders Support Group and offers advice on all aspects of CDM. The health and safety advisers have well over a hundred years experience in the construction industry and their combined experience has enabled us to build a multi-faceted and effective team.

Head Office visits, carried out by the senior health and safety adviser on a regular basis. We seek to maintain close links with senior managers of member companies to ensure that health and safety advice gets to the right place within the management structure.

Management System Audits, as part of our head office visit, we undertake on request an audit of the members health and safety management system.

Health and Safety Policy advice, given on the contents of the member companies’ health and safety policies. We have proforma policies on either CD ROM, disk or hard copy for example purposes.

Training advice, given on health and safety training requirements.

Site Visits, carried out by the health and safety advisers on a regular basis for each site registered with us by members, to verify compliance with health, safety and welfare legislation. Written inspection reports are left on site and a copy of each report is also sent to the member’s Head Office. Visits to sites of up to 4 weeks duration are included within core fees; for longer projects, a sliding scale of (modest) charges apply.

Site Set-Up Packs are issued as necessary for each registered site. These include:

    • Site set-up Sheet - what documentation you should legally display.
    • Accident Book.
    • Health and Safety Law poster.
    • Health and Safety Record book of Reports & Inspections (report book with preprinted sections on scaffolding / excavations / plant & work equipment / abrasive wheels / electrical tests / plant & equipment operators / 1st aiders).
    • Health & Safety Information Sheet.

Quarterly Performance Reports, issued to each member, analysing and summarising their Site Visit inspection results for the previous 12 months. These allow members to monitor health and safety performance for individual sites and for their company as a whole, as well as to benchmark their performance either internally or against the average for the whole membership.
